Welcome to the FSA – Research Association for Applied System Safety and Occupational Medicine.
The FSA is a registered, non-profit recognized association based in Mannheim. The leading member of the FSA is the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the foodstuffs and catering industry („Berufsgenossenschaft Nahrungsmittel und Gastgewerbe” (BGN)). The BGN makes personnel as well as laboratory and testing facilities available for FSA research projects.

An outstanding scientist, dedicated safety researcher and passionate sportsman has left us forever.
Prof. Dr. Siegfried Radandt
shaped the world of work and health protection worldwide for decades. As the Head of Prevention at BGN, he was deeply committed to occupational health and safety and developed modern concepts of workplace safety. His work laid the foundation for a culture of responsibility and accident prevention.
He was a co‑founder of the Research Association for Applied System Safety and Occupational Medicine (FSA) and of the ISSA Section Machine and System Safety, to which he remained actively connected as a scientific advisor until his death.
Siegfried Radandt combined scientific excellence, practical foresight and a passion for sport.
We thank him for his life’s work and express our deepest sympathy to his family.
