Deposit of documents

In case of "non-electrical" equipment of category 2, the manufacturer has to conduct an internal production control according to Directive 2014/34/EU, Annex VIII.

According to article 13, clause 1 b) the documentation for the internal production control shall be deposited at the notified body for 10 years after delivery of the final product.

As a rule the submitted documents are not reviewed by FSA GmbH and therefore they can be delivered closed or sealed.

Once FSA GmbH confirmed the deposit in writing, the manufacturer can issue a declaration of conformity and affix the CE mark.

The technical documentation shall include the following:

  • A general description of the type with information about the intended use and a description of the application limits
  • A manual in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX), Annex II, clause 1.0.6.
  • Drafts,manufacturing drawings and layouts of components, sub-assemblies, circuits, etc. (assembly drawing, group drawings and detailed drawings if relevant)
  • A list of fully or partly applied standards and descriptions of the adopted solutions to meet the essential requirements in case the standards were not applied
  • Results of design calculations, examinations etc., if relevant
  • Test reports, if relevant

A fee is charged for depositing documents:
The fee for archiving technical documents is calculated per annum and per folder.

1 Folder € 50,--/year
Any other folders within the same documentation € 30,--/Jahr
